Never seen one of these before, very expensive and a sledgehammer to crack a walnut. Interesting but why would you want one?

That's funny, Savastore don't even know what it's called:
Sharkoon SATA QuickPort Pro (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-001-SH&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=72&name=Sharkoon%20SATA%20QuickPort%20Pro)

Unless theirs is an own brand / unbranded variety.

Cheers Ghost, now thats a good idea, ive a shark thing.
But that would be even easier
Sharkoon Drivelink, I assume, got one as well.
Basically the same thing, just No Memory Card Reader, No Cradle, No E-Sata (depends on the model of the QuickPort you buy), No USB Hub

Could be they dropped the price for their up-coming model.

I find them very usefull, as I can connect sata, IDE to it, access via USB on another PC and salvage any stuff I need.

recently my boot disc started giving issues, and wouldnt boot into Vista, I did the usual stuff with no luck. But by using this quickly recovered my important stuff without having to open up me PC or use a USB external caddie, which most only do either IDE or SATA.

When I said it's expensive, I meant that all it saves you is the time to take a case side off, plug the HDD data lead and power lead into another PC. It's very rare you have to do that, must be 3 or four years ago for me. If you are a repairer I could see one being invaluable. Did you find out if the HDD was faulty Trev or just Vista faulty? ;)

Hi Chunk, soz I read your post wrong.

The HD story gets better, but it looks like the original HD was a failure. The second new HD was just Vista not getting along with, I think the trial version of NOD32, since I have now re-installed Vista and its all ok.
