Can you get crosshair sights on cod4?

Silly query, but i have noticed a few players whilst spectating have a crosshair when their weapon is hip side. Is this a hack?

erm there is the perk tht gives u more accuracy while hipped, but if they are using a xhair then it will need to be done using an external program..which would be counted as a hack i spose on servers tht have it removed

but then again..if you are playing on a server that has the xhair..and u use it? is that still a hack..

dont know bout this, i think crosshair isnt allowed on hardcore, and clovis is using a fixed crosshair wich is deffo a hack tbh.....:devil:

What was the server you were playing in?
Because I think if it was a Normal Mode server, then you do have a crosshair when you Hip-fire, and the crosshair expands when firing to show the loss in accuracy from the recoil.
Hardcore mode, which all our servers should be set to, you do not get a crosshair.

I really doubt it is a bug in the killcam or just when spectating.

Like Owen sort of said, the only ways which a crosshair could be used in a Hardcore mode server, would be:
External program / Hack / aimbot. which would not be visible to you spectating / killcam. Otherwise it would be a piss poor hack to use, if it was that easy to detect.
Draw a Dot on your monitor screen / Transparency Film placed over it.
If it was a hardcore server, they bypassed the cheat protection on the cvars to enable them to use it. If this is correct, then you may be able to see it in killcam / spec. But not sure... This would be classed as a hack.
