I didn't bother posting before cos it's a bit hard to completely understand what you posted here.

I could only find info on that update affecting firewall programs (including ZoneAlarm). NOD32 does n't have a Firewall, Smart Security Does.
Does Macabre use NOD32? as no information about his system is mentioned.
CMOS update
Only thing that springs to mind about that, a piece of hardware has come loose or disconnected and then reconnected.
Could be something as simple as the keyboard or mouse, but might be worth re-seating all your RAM, PCI / AGP cards, SATA / IDE cables.
Maybe you should try checking the Event Log for your system to see if the error / problem might be listed.
In "Start Menu" in the "Run..." box. Type eventvwr, then enter.
Then look under "System", then scroll through the entries for the day which it happened / or for any red "Error" / yellow "Warning" entries.
You might have a re-occurring warning in the log, which should be normal
It should then say what the error was, hopefully.
