For duel core it is E-Bay, and they are fetching high prices

This is a bargain with 1mb cache faster than your 4200

This a fX with locked multiplyers, it is single core, but to be honest duel core
939 cpu's for gaming are not as fast as single core cpu's.
At this price it is worth trying this CPU.

Skt939 CPU's in descending Order:
AMD64 FX-60 - 2.6gHz, Unlocked, 2MB Cache
Opteron 185 - 2.6gHz, Locked, 2MB Cache
Opteron 180 - 2.4gHz, Locked, 2MB Cache
AMD64 4800+ - 2.4gHz, Locked, 2MB Cache
Opteron 175 - 2.2gHz, Locked, 2MB Cache
AMD64 4600+ - 2.4gHz, Locked, 1MB Cache
etc, etc.
Not all boards support Opterons, but they are generally better than the AMD64 X2 counterparts. As they are meant for servers, all have 2MB cache, require less power, generally better overclockers, same core as FX-60.
Probably a bit late in posting this info, but thought it might be en lighting.

Good post Clovis, well researched.
I've had 3 x Skt939 processors.
AMD64 X2 4400+ (currently in use)
Opteron 146 (which overclocked to 2.5-2.6gHz, spare)
AMD64 3700+ (gave to a friend)
I remember when the Opterons were the craze when they came out, and everyone was out of stock due to them being better than the AMD64's.
Now I have new parts arriving Saturday,
Intel Q6600, 4GB OCZ 8500mHz, Asus P5E
So my AMD64 X2 4400+, will be come spare, unless I sell it or give it away.

but did you not just buy one from ebay :O
Well, if we're talking about 939 and opty, now i'm in my comfort zone...
Definately better off with the singles for gaming. The FX series are a waste of cash, and are generally hot. Saying that, when clocked, they're all prety hot for AMD's...
The opty 144 and 146 are your best bet, CABNE, CABYE and CAB2E steppings (in that order) are the ones to buy.
That said, I've a CABNE (0545 i think) sitting around doing nothing, with a Lanparty SLI-D and 2GB's of Gskill DDR-600 if anyone is interested.
If anyone needs info or O/C help, drop me a line.
