doesnt do MKV, not something I would purchase, but I have a PC hooked up to me main tv. When I have time i'll do a Lazy and google you something,

You can get their next model up, which whilst being three/two times the price.

From the reviews posted on Ebuyer, it does exactly what you need and more, this has two USB ports, which would let you connect an external HD to it or a USB stick, you can also leave your PC on and connect this device up to your home network provided it is connect via a network cable, which may not be an option.

Still using this device will give you MKV playback plus more options in the future.
