Hi guys when my pc boots up the screen shows sequence of small white dots and as it goes through its xp load the dots change to blue all over the screen. Then as it is about to load into the xp profile screen the monitor goes onto standby and nothing else happens. I tok the card out cleaned the dust off and updated driver via mem stick when it loaded into safe mode, is it the card that has packed in? It is a Nvida 6800 le 128mb agp card. Doing this post from my laptop. Have been into bios to have a look and all looks okay. It was working okay until yesterday morning when my network/service went down. Eventually it came back but then my pc would not load up. Do i need to get a new card? are agp's still available to buy? Anyone got an agp card they dont need?

Settings for agp in bios show agp mode = agpx8 agp fast write = enabled graphics aperture size=64mb primary graphics adaptor=agp

bios is american megatrends v02.54 pc is amd athlon 64 processor 3200 speed 2200mhz with gig of ram.

cheers lads for any help, ps im out of action for cod until i can get this fixed.

hmm i have bad news for you - u can throw away your card :/ but it's still a hope :)

Run safe mode and uninstall/delete all drivers from your graphic card. Then start windows normally. U pc can be load but VGA drivers. then try install - only video driver (without nvidia control panel). Reboot and tell what happend.

U can try format of course :)

If still nothing - your cooling system and firmware in your card was broken - nothing more - i has this same in my video card but was still in guarantee so producent fixed it ;)

Check your connections on the monitor and the card are tightly fitted.

I used to get blue speckles on my monitor, it turned out to be a slightly loose connection on the monitor.

cheers, disconnected all cables took card out and cleaned all connections. Once reconnected you can hear the pc boot up, but the monitor just stays blank and goes nto standby. Basically im F$$$$%* at the mo, looked on ebay for a agp card, must be 6800 at least or 9800 for cod 4 to play.
